I bring 20+ years of experience in leadership positions in the public sector and extensive experience working at the intersection of the public, private, and governmental sectors.

Before Courij, I started several AmeriCorps programs, taught high school, worked in senior management positions at several education non-profits, and worked in the technology sector for a start-up company. In 2018, I also became a founding coach at a)plan coaching, a platform for connecting individuals and organizations with experienced and skilled executive leadership coaches.

I am passionate about transformational leadership, innovation, and building strong, supportive, healthy communities. I am an active volunteer, Youth Speaks Board Member, and mentor to elementary, high school, and college students. I am also an active board member and parent at Northern Light School, a nonprofit school in Oakland founded by four women with a calling to provide a Whole Child Education for children who would not have the opportunity in a private school setting.

I hold a Master’s in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. I received my undergraduate degree at George Washington University, where I studied Political Science and Sociology. I am a Newfield Network-trained coach.
